-Grace That Gives Ability
Reading: Romans 6:1-14
Reading: Romans 6:1-14
Jesus didn't help the paralytic stand—He gave him the ability to stand.
"Get up, pick up your mat, and walk" wasn't therapy; it was resurrection power.
Notice the triple command followed by immediate obedience.
This is how grace works: Christ's command creates what He asks for.
When God saves us, He doesn't offer a self-improvement program. He imparts new life instantly, then calls us to walk in it. The same power that raised Christ from the dead now works in you.
What seems impossible—forgiving that person, breaking that addiction, loving your spouse well—becomes possible when Christ supplies the ability. Your obedience doesn't earn grace; it evidences the grace already given.
What Christ commands, He enables.
Reflection:
What has God commanded you to do that seems impossible?
Ask Him for the ability to obey today.
