-The Sovereignty of God Over the Plans of Men
Reading: Proverbs 19:21
The officers sent to arrest Jesus returned empty-handed. They could not lay a hand on him because his hour had not yet come. This was not a failure of human planning. It was divine restraint. God was sovereignly holding back the depravity of men until his appointed time had arrived. Proverbs 19:21 reminds us that many plans fill the hearts of men, but it is the purpose of God that will stand.
Whatever opposition surrounds you today, whatever schemes are being formed against what God is doing in your life, take courage.
No force on earth can interrupt the sovereign timing of God.
Reflection: Is there a situation in your life right now where you are struggling to trust God's timing?
Practical Application: Identify one area where you have been anxious about outcomes. Surrender that specific concern to God in prayer today, confessing that his purposes will not be thwarted.
