-Light Versus Darkness

People reject Christ not primarily for intellectual reasons but moral ones—they love their darkness. Sin is prized; light exposes what we'd rather keep hidden. But regeneration changes our affections. The Spirit plants new desires, drawing us to the light rather than fleeing from it. When believers practice truth and come to the light, it reveals that God is working in and through us. Any goodness in our lives is evidence of God's action, not our achievement. This should birth humility and worship. Stop hiding sin in the shadows; drag it into daylight quickly through confession and repentance. Don't use the gospel as a cutting torch to wound others—shine it as a beacon pointing to Jesus. This week, point poison friends to the antidote: the lifted Christ who alone saves.
