-The Spirit Gives Life
Reading: John 6:60-65; Ezekiel 36:25-27
Many found Jesus' teaching too hard and walked away.
The flesh profits nothing—human effort, carnal understanding, and self-reliance lead nowhere.
Only the Spirit gives life.
Just as God promised through Ezekiel to remove hearts of stone and give hearts of flesh, Jesus declares that spiritual rebirth comes only through sovereign grace.
No one can come to Christ unless the Father grants it.
This isn't about human cleverness or religious achievement.
If you're in Christ today, it's not because you were smarter, more moral, or made a better decision than others.
It's pure grace.
The Spirit sovereignly breathed life into your dead soul. This truth should eliminate all boasting and fill you with humble gratitude.
Your salvation belongs entirely to God's unmerited favor.
Reflection:
Do I recognize that my faith is a gift of grace, not a product of my own wisdom or effort?
