-The Weight of Sin
Reading: Romans 3:10-23; Isaiah 53:4-6
Devotional: The modern church has grown uncomfortable with the word sin. It has been softened into mistakes, flaws, and bad habits. But Jesus did not soften it. He warned plainly that those who die in their sins will bear the full weight of divine judgment. Sin is not a minor inconvenience. As theologian R.C. Sproul described it, sin is cosmic treason against an infinitely holy God. Isaiah reminds us that it was our transgressions, our iniquities, that required the crushing of the Son of God. When we minimize sin, we minimize the cross. Let the weight of it drive you to gratitude.
