-Knowing the Son, Knowing the Father

Many people are comfortable with a distant, vague idea of God, a grandfatherly figure who expects little and demands nothing.
Jesus dismantles that comfortable distance entirely.
To misunderstand the Son is to misunderstand the Father.
To reject the Son is to reject the Father.
There is no alternate path to the God of the Bible that bypasses Jesus Christ.
This is not narrow-mindedness.
It is the mercy of God made specific.
A God who could be reached any number of ways would be a God too vague to save anyone.
The specificity of Christ is the very ground of our hope.
