-God's Sovereignty Over Human Opposition

Reading: Psalm 33:10-11

Some of the crowd wanted to seize Jesus, but no one laid a hand on him. His hour had not yet come. This is divine restraint over human depravity. Men plotted, conspired, and raged, and God held every one of them back until the appointed moment. This pattern runs through all of Scripture and through all of history. Nothing catches God off guard. No opposition, no government, no cultural tide, no personal enemy operates outside of his sovereign purposes. This is not a passive God watching events unfold. This is a God who governs all things, including the very hatred of those who despise his Son, for his own glory and our ultimate good.

Reflection: What situation in your life right now feels out of control? How does God's demonstrated sovereignty over the enemies of Christ speak to that situation today?

Practical Application: Write down one circumstance you have been anxious about. Beside it, write out a truth about God's sovereignty from Scripture. Return to it throughout the day as an anchor when worry resurfaces.
