-The Thirst Only Christ Can Satisfy
Reading: John 7:37-38
Every human soul carries a thirst that the world cannot satisfy. Money, power, prestige, and pleasure all promise relief, but they are broken cisterns. They hold nothing. The invitation Jesus extends at the Feast of Tabernacles is not complicated. He does not say to perform a ritual, climb a ladder of religious effort, or get your life in order first. He says come. Come as you are, where you are, empty and desperate. The question worth sitting with today is not whether the invitation is real. It is. The question is whether you are drinking, or simply admiring the water from a distance.
Reflection: What broken cisterns have you been drinking from? In what area of your life are you most aware of a deep, unmet thirst?
Practical Application: Identify one thing you have been relying on for satisfaction that is not Christ. Bring that area specifically to him in prayer today, surrendering it and asking him to replace it with living water.
