-The Jesus Who Demands Everything
Reading: Luke 9:23-26
The Jesus of Scripture is not a life coach or a motivational speaker. He is the Lord of all creation, and he calls every person to complete surrender. He healed a man on the Sabbath and then confronted an entire religious establishment without apology.
Following him closely will cost you comfort, approval, and control. But the one who demands everything is also the one who gave everything, laying down his life so that sinners could be made right before a holy God.
He is worth every cost. He is the only one who is.
Reflection: What are you holding back from God that he is asking you to surrender?
Practical Application: Write down one specific area of your life where you have not fully surrendered to Christ. Bring it before God in prayer today and ask for the grace to release it into his hands.
