-The Barrier Is Moral, Not Intellectual

Reading: James 1:22-25
Many people understand what the Bible says but resist doing what it requires.

This is not an intellectual problem.
It is a moral one.

The sermon made clear that we often know exactly what God commands, whether it concerns forgiveness, honesty, or surrender, yet we withhold obedience because we simply do not want to comply.

James describes a man who looks into a mirror and walks away unchanged.

God's Word is meant to transform us, not merely inform us. Understanding grows in the soil of a willing heart, not a clever mind.

Reflection: Is there a command of God that you understand clearly but have been unwilling to obey?

Practical Application: Identify one area of known disobedience and take a concrete step toward obedience today, trusting that understanding deepens as willingness increases.
