-Whose Glory Are You Building

Reading: John 5:41-44; Matthew 6:1-6

Jesus drew a sharp and revealing line in John 7:18: the one who speaks from himself seeks his own glory, but the one who seeks the glory of the one who sent him is true.

This test of motivation cuts far deeper than ministry platforms and pulpits. It reaches into every act of service, every conversation about faith, every moment of generosity. It is entirely possible to do the right thing for the wrong reason, to serve God publicly while quietly building your own name.

True faithfulness is not measured by how many people notice you, but by whether God alone is magnified in what you do.

Reflection: When you serve, give, or share your faith, whose approval are you most aware of seeking in that moment?

Application: Perform one act of service today that no one else will know about. Let it be an offering to God alone, with no audience and no recognition.
