From Shadow to Substance

Reading: John 6:31-35; Hebrews 10:1-10

The manna in the wilderness was never meant to be the ultimate provision—it was a shadow pointing to the true Bread from heaven. Shadows aren't substance; types aren't the reality. The Old Testament is filled with pictures that find their fulfillment in Christ.

The manna sustained physical life temporarily; everyone who ate it eventually died. But Jesus, the true Bread, gives eternal life that never perishes. We don't need more shadows when we have the substance standing before us.

Christ is the reality that all the Old Testament symbols anticipated. Stop settling for shadows when the substance—Jesus Himself—is freely offered. He alone satisfies the deepest hunger of your soul.
