- Following Jesus or Following Signs

Reading: John 6:14-15, 25-27, 66
The crowd followed Jesus across seven miles of sea because of the signs—the healings, the spectacles, the possibility of political deliverance.
They wanted a bread king, not a crucified Savior.
They sought the gift, not the Giver.
When Jesus later taught hard truths about being the Bread of Life, many walked away.
Superficial faith wants miracles without the cross. It desires provision without repentance, blessing without surrender.
Like a dog faithful to whoever holds the food, this faith shifts allegiance based on what it can get.
Examine your own heart honestly:
Are you following Jesus for what He can give you, or for who He is?
Do you want Him to fix your circumstances, or do you want Him?
Would your faith survive the loss of comfort if you gained Christ?
True saving faith seeks the Giver above the gift. It takes up the cross daily, embracing both the blessings and the cost of following the King of Kings.
