- Hearing and Believing

"He who hears my word and believes...has eternal life."
This simple equation—hearing plus believing equals life—is the heartbeat of the gospel. Yet we cannot hear spiritually without God opening our ears, nor can we believe without God granting faith. 

Salvation is entirely God's work from start to finish. You were dead in sin, unable to respond, until the Spirit breathed life into your soul. This truth should humble us and fill us with gratitude. We contribute nothing to our salvation except the sin that made it necessary. 

If you know Christ, marvel today at the sovereign grace that pursued you when you were still God's enemy. 

If you don't know Him, cry out for Him to open your ears and grant you faith. 

He will not refuse.
