-Standing Firm in the Gospel
Paul speaks of the gospel in three tenses:
you received it (past),
you stand in it (present),
and you are being saved by it (future).
Christianity isn't a one-time handshake with Jesus—it's a lifetime of resting in what Christ has done. Your salvation is secure not because you hold onto God tightly enough, but because He holds you.
Perseverance isn't the root of salvation; it's the fruit. When doubts creep in or feelings fluctuate, don't preach your emotions to yourself—preach the gospel.
Your footing isn't in your feelings, which change daily, but in the unchanging truth that Christ died, was buried, and rose again.
Today, when uncertainty whispers, answer back with verses 3-4.
Stand firm.
The tomb is empty.
Grace is full.
